Saturdays 10AM - 6PM

On loan from the Chicago Field Museum, “Celebration of Souls” delves into the origins of Dia De Los Muertos and its traditions, such as building ofrendas (altars) to honor deceased loved ones, creating elaborate sugar skulls, and decorating graves with marigolds. Visitors will learn about the symbolism behind these customs and how they are passed down through generations, as well as the diverse beliefs and practices surrounding death and the afterlife. This exhibition was developed by The Field Museum in collaboration with Mars, Incorporated. On exhibit October 4 - December 14, 2024 at The NOTO Arts Center, Topeka, Kansas.
