Zoo Lights
Walk through the Topeka Zoo as it lights up with holiday lights, hosts festive events, and Santa comes to town. The Topeka Zoo is blanketed in lights, custom lit sculptures and replicas of some of the zoo's most popular environments. Go "Under the Sea" in the oceanic tunnel of lights or join the monkeys as they navigate the brightly lit trees throughout the park. Keep your eyes peeled and you may even run into a few furry friends during your visit. The event runs nightly starting mid-November through late December.
Visit the gingerbread men and the hippos as they chase holiday treats and watch out for the giraffes as they take a bite from heights above. Make sure to make some cookies with Mrs. Claus in one of the specially offered classes available to patrons. If you want to save a little money, you can sign up as a zoo member and receive a discount on admission and visit the Topeka Zoo throughout the year! Other events take place yearly including Brew at the Zoo and new events at the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden that was established in 2020.
